FULL DESCRIPTION:
This two bedroom traditional Greek stone house with garden is on the Ionian Island of Lefkada. Situated in the popular village of Haradiatica. 1-2 km from Nidri and Vliho Bay.
This 'upside down' two storey cottage is nestled above the village square, with private vehicle access and extensive views across the valley towards Nidri.
Originally built in 1914 and fully renovated throughout in 2019 and constantly maintained to very high standards.

From the village square a pretty lane takes you directly up to the cottage.
FRONT ENTRANCE (Upper ground level)
On entering the solid wood front door there is a lobby area with double glazed window and French doors leading out to the decked terrace.
LOUNGE/DINER/KITCHEN
Leading directly into the open plan lounge/diner the focus is the impressive wooden gabled roof and cast iron wood burner.
The kitchen comprises of a comprehensive range of fitted slate grey units with chrome handles and contrasting wooden worktops. Modern mosaic style tiling. An electric ceramic cooker with oven, cooker hood and light. Under unit fridge and combi oven/microwave. One and a half stainless steel sink bowls, single drainer and mono mixer hose tap. Under unit lighting. Electric hot water system. Provisions for solar water system. Double glazed window.
There is a large central dining space with overhead lighting. Double glazed window. Space for a desk.
The lounge area centers around the cosy cast iron wood burner (12.8 kw) with two double glazed windows with incredible views over the village square and the mountain valley.
The staircase leads down to the plaka utility/laundry room. Sliding barn doors open to two bedrooms and a large shower room/WC. There are double glazed French doors opening out onto the vegetable garden.

HARADIATICA VILLAGE:
Haradiatica is a typical Greek mountain village with a pretty little square and a natural spring water fountain. An easy short drive from Nidri or a 40 minute walk (down hill) via either the main road or the olive groves and stream.A bus service runs from the village to Lefkada via Nidri 3 days a week. There is also a school bus to Nidri.
Pavlos Taverna/Grill House sits in the heart of the village. The taverna is the hub of village life. It has a very small shop that sells essential items open 7 days a week and has a traditional little butchers.
Fresh fish, fruit and vegetables and fresh bread are delivered during the week. Other sellers announce their arrival using loudhailers or sound their horns, such as live poultry or the collection of scrap metal. There are three churches within the parish the main one is above Haradiatica with spectacular views over the bay and surrounding islands.
