Agiofili Beach Lefkada.

Agiofili Beach Lefkada

Another day and another beach on Lefkada and this one again, I have to say, is stunning.

We drove to Vasiliki on the south coast of Lefkada, past the quay and new marina rising up above the small secluded beach. Driving a little further we parked opposite Villa Thomas Studios.

We continued on foot along the lane/track, taking in the array of wild flowers, the distinctive smell of wild sage, dancing butterflies and greeted by a friendly robin; until reaching the gates leading down to Agiofili Beach.

These gates were locked but if you look to the left of the main gate you can sneak around. Shhhh!!!
The beach car park (fee payable) only opens during peak season, with refreshment/snack facilities and portable toilets and rentable sunbeds. So you will need to take your own picnic out of season.

Once past the gates and down a flight of metal steps you are greeted with the most amazing view of the horseshoe shaped beach; the turquoise water is breathtaking.

There are several concrete steps leading directly down to the beach (no handrail). Then just sit there, remove shoes, breath deeply and do nothing.....

Re trace your steps and take in a final glimpse of Vasiliki Bay on your return walk.
