I am going to say very little about todays adventure, simply because the photos are breathtaking and say it all. Using just my mobile phone with no filters the colours are strikingly beautiful, showing exactly how it is. What the photographs don't capture is the fresh air, the soothing sounds of the waves lapping the pebbles, the glorious suns rays dancing on the crystal clear waters and the smell of the salty cool breeze.
We started our journey from the direction of Karya to the west coast following signs to Kalamitsi village. You can also follow directions from Lefkada Town.
In Kalamitsi village the road divides to two beaches we took the left fork to Kalamitsi beach, the right goes to Megali Petra. Avali beach.

PLEASE NOTE. (April 2021)
The road that descends down to the beach car park has suffered a landslide. There are NO ENTRY signs and road blocks erected preventing further access by vehicle. The beach is only accessible by foot from this point. So go early as there is only parking for a couple of cars but the short, steep walk is well worth it. I would also advise taking a picnic and refreshments.
This is a 'must visit' beach on Lefkada.
