Traditional Greek Taverna. 'Pavlos' Haradiatica

Pavlos Tavern sits in the heart of the mountain village of Haradiatica. An easy short drive from Nidri or a 40 minute walk (uphill) via either the main road or the olive groves and stream.
Haradiatica is a typical Greek village with a pretty little square and a natural spring water fountain.
A bus service runs from the village to Lefkada via Nidri 3 days a week.

The taverna is the hub of our village life. It has a very small shop that sells essential items open 7 days a week and has a traditional little butchers.

Fresh fish, fruit and vegetables and fresh bread are delivered during the week. Other sellers announce their arrival using loudhailers or sound their horns, such as live poultry or the collection of scrap metal.
Pavlos 82 years young and his wife Stamata are still very active with Christos their son, who now manages the taverna, so it is truly a lovely family business.

The taverna is well known throughout Lefkas for its meat market/grill and it visited by many Greek families and tourists; open 7 nights a week throughout the summer months from 6pm. There is a large car park left of the village square.

The food is predominately meat based but there are other dishes on the menu suitable for vegetarians. We love the complimentary Panna Cotta or fresh watermelon.

The taverna is traditionally decorated with a large external seating area covered by a grapevine. During the colder evenings the indoor open fire gives a cosy welcome.
The paintings on the walls are by George Konidaris a local artist, born in the village of Haradiatica and fondly known by many.

During the day you may want to walk up to the beautiful church that overlooks the village for amazing views of Nidri and neighbouring islands and then return to Pavlos Taverna for refreshments as open all day for drinks. I recommend the local wine which has fewer additives ( no sore heads) and also very good value.

We love the social vibe of our village. Often the Greek ladies can be seen in their black clothes sat inside chattering in an afternoon. In the evening the Greek men can be seen with their rosary beads drinking ouzo and playing cards or backgammon.
Everyone gives a warm Greek welcome and hello in Haradiatica.
