Make a free patchwork beach/picnic blanket.

What to do on a cold windy day?? ....make a beach/picnic blanket.

I was given a bag of old t shirts which made this blanket free to make. This material is also good to uses as a beach towel.

 Cut squares using a cardboard template and pinking shears

 

Stitch the squares to the required length. (I put raw edges up to add texture.)
Continue making strips to the required width.

Stitch the lengths together to form the blanket.

 

Because the t-shirt fabric used is plain I decided to embroider hearts and daisies using scrap wool, giving a bohemian/hippy look.

Now all you need is some glorious weather !
